Welcome!
At the University of Auckland’s Centre for Automation and Robotic Engineering Science (CARES), our Robot Learning Team pioneers Reinforcement Learning algorithms, empowering robots to learn and adapt through real-world interactions autonomously.

Robot Learning
Our research advances reinforcement learning, cognitive robotics, and adaptive control to develop the flexible, resilient, and generalisable capabilities required for robots to operate in dynamic, unstructured environments such as orchards, farms, forests, and coastal regions. Our research focuses on computer vision, control, decision-making, and planning, pushing the boundaries of robotic intelligence in the real world.

Join us!
We are always seeking exceptional students to expand our diverse team and join in the fun of developing autonomous robotic systems!
